Photography Course
18 November 2010 to 21 November 2010

Take a photography course with well known photographer, Pine Pienaar, at the Ganora Guestfarm just 7km from Nieu-Bethesda.

The course includes:

  • A light painting workshop where students learn the art of illuminating and recording selected areas of a night scene with powerful torches.
  • A natural light documentary workshop where local residences are photographed in and around their homes, creating portrait studies of a rare and sublime beauty.
  • A sunset-silhouette workshop where students learn to deconstruct the natural elements to create landscapes with meaningful silhouettes foregrounds and breathtaking sunsets.
  • Stargazing and viewing through 10 inch deep space telescope (weather permitting) and an astro talk.
  • A visit to Helen Martins' Owlhouse.
  • JP, owner of Ganora, will share his private fossil and artifact museum with you by showing you all the family has found in the past few years.
  • A guided tour to Ganora's Bushman paintings. On your way you might meet some of Ganora's rehabilitated meerkats.
  • In addition to the photographic workshop, Pine will explain and entertain you with an astronomy lecture and show you the beautiful Karoo skies through a 10 inch deep space telescope.
